Analog Input ModuleEach TMR Analog Input Module hasthree isolated sets of electronics, calledchannels, which independently processfield data input to the module. Eachchannel places the processed data in anarray and transmits this array, onrequest, to the MP associated with thatchannel. The MPs vote the data beforepassing it to the application. In TMRmode, the data passed is mid-value. Indual mode, the data passed is theaverage.AI Modules include complete, ongoingdiagnostics for each channel. If thediagnostics detect a failure on anychannel, the Fault indicator turns onand activates the system alarm. TheFault indicator identifies a channelfault, not a complete module failure. AIModules are guaranteed to operateproperly in the presence of a single faultand may continue to operate properlywith multiple faults.AI Modules support a hot-sparemodule. Each AI Module is mechanically keyed to prevent improper installation in a configured baseplate.The Model 3351 AI Module can beused with these baseplates:• Model 2351, which is used in typical4-20 mA applications.• AI External Termination Baseplate,which is used with the Model 9764-510 RTD/TC/AI ExternalTermination Panel or the Model9792-310 AI Hazardous LocationExternal Termination Panel.• Model 2354, which is used in 4-20mA applications and enablescommunication between HARTfield devices and Configuration andAsset Management Softwarerunning on a PC.• Model 2354A, which is used in 4-20mA applications in hazardous For all points, the MPs vote the databefore passing it to the control program.In TMR mode, the data passed is midvalue.
