Power ModulesEach Tricon chassis is equipped withtwo Power Modules—either one isfully capable of running the Tricon atfull load and rated temperature. EachPower Module can be replaced online.The Power Modules, located on the leftside of the chassis, convert line powerto DC power appropriate for all Triconmodules. Terminal strips for systemgrounding, incoming power and hardwired alarms are located on the lowerleft corner of the backplane. Incomingpower should be rated for a minimumof 240 watts per power supply.The Power Module alarm contacts areactuated when:• A module is missing from thesystem • The hardware configurationconflicts with the control program’slogical configuration• A module fails• A Main Processor detects a systemfault• Primary power to a Power Modulefails• A Power Module has a “LowBattery” or “Over Temperature”warningWARNING: Do not use the Model8312 Power Module in Tricon systemsthat are located in hazardous locationsand must meet ATEX requirements. Ifyou have 230 V line voltage and yoursystem must meet ATEX requirements,use the Model 8311 24 VDC Power Module along with the ATEX-certified24 VDC power supply from PhoenixContact (part number: QUINT-PS-100-240AC/24DC/10/EX).
