Dimensions and ClearancesThe dimensions given on the figure tothe right are predicated on the verticalmounting of Trident baseplates on apanel.The dimensions include the following:• The MP Baseplate, AI HART Baseplates, and AO HART Baseplatesare 9 inches (229 millimeters) wideby 9.79 inches (249 millimeters)long• I/O Baseplates for all types of I/Omodules are 7.0 inches (178 millimeters) wide by 9.79 inches (249millimeters) long All Trident I/O modules have the samedimensions, which are:• Height = 8.65 inches (220 mm)• Width = 1.75 inches (44 mm)• Depth = 6.65 inches (169 mm)Clearance should always allowadequate air flow around Tridentmodules. For typical applications, thereshould be at least 5 inches (15 centimeters) of clearance between activemodules and the walls of the enclosure.The DIN rails and baseplate assembliesshould be arranged on the panel toallow for the installation of wiringchannels (such as Panduit) along theleft side of vertical columns. Main Processor ModuleEvery Trident system is controlled bythree Main Processor (MP) Modulesthat reside on a single baseplate. EachMP Module acts as one channel of thetriplicated Trident system and providesthe following features:• An RS-232 or RS-485 Modbus portfor direct TMR connection to a DCS(or other external host) without theneed for any other modules• A 10BaseT Ethernet (IEEE 802.3)port for connection to the TriStation1131 programming workstation• A lock lever that indicates whetherthe module is properly locked on thebaseplate
