Digital Input ModuleEach TMR Digital Input Module hasthree isolated sets of electronics, calledchannels, which independently processfield data to the module. Each channelplaces the processed data in an arrayand transmits this array, on request, tothe MP associated with that channel.The MPs vote on the data beforepassing it to the application.DI Modules include complete, ongoingdiagnostics for each channel. If thediagnostics detect a failure on anychannel, the Fault indicator turns onand activates the system alarm. TheFault indicator identifies a channelfault, not a complete module failure.The DI Module continuously verifiesthe ability of the system to detect transitions to the opposite state. DIModules are guaranteed to operateproperly in the presence of a single faultand may continue to operate properlywith multiple faults.DI Modules support a hot-sparemodule. Each DI Module is mechanically keyed to prevent improper installation in a configured baseplate.The Model 3301 DI Module can beused with these baseplates:• Model 2301, which is used withtypical applications.• DI External Termination Baseplate,which is used with the Solid StateRelay Input External TerminationPanel in high-voltage applications,or the Model 9573-610 DIHazardous Location ExternalTermination Panel.
