Digital Output ModuleEach TMR Digital Output Module hasthree isolated sets of electronics, calledchannels, which independently acceptdata from the MP associated with eachchannel. The channels use the patentedQuad Voter circuitry to vote on individual output signals as they are appliedto the load.This voter circuitry is based on parallelseries paths which pass power if twoout of three switches (channels A andB, or channels B and C, or channels Aand C) command them to close. TheQuad Voter circuitry has multipleredundancy on all critical signal paths,guaranteeing safety and maximumavailability.For each point, the DO Module periodically executes the Output Voter Diagnostic (OVD) routine. To allowunrestricted safe operation under avariety of multiple-fault scenarios,OVD detects and alarms these types offaults:• Points—all stuck-on and stuck-offsare detected in less than 500milliseconds.• Switches—all stuck-on or stuck-offswitches or their associated drivecircuitry are detected.DO Modules include complete,ongoing diagnostics for each channel.If the diagnostics detect a failure on anychannel, the Fault indicator turns onand activates the system alarm. TheFault indicator identifies a channelfault, not a complete module failure.DO Modules are guaranteed to operateproperly in the presence of a single faultand may continue to operate properlywith certain multiple faults.DO Modules support a hot-sparemodule. Each DO Module is mechanically keyed to prevent improper installation in a configured baseplate.
