The MVI56-LTQ is the Limitorque valve actuator master communication module manufactured by Prosoft Technology. It is part of the ControlLogix platform for industrial automation systems supported by Allen-Bradley control logic. The Prosoft MVI56-LTQ is designed to allow Controllogix-compatible processors to communicate quickly with Limitorque valve actuators. The device is best described as an input-output medium between the Limitorque valve network and the control devices that need to send large amounts of data to these actuators. The device supports 150 valves for storing and transmitting data from the ControlLogix processor controller label. The data distributed from the PLC processor is asynchronous with the activity on the actuator network.
In order to be able to efficiently transfer data to the actuator, the MVI56-LTQ has a 1500 word size buffer. In this memory, the device can store the ladder logic program, which is responsible for controlling the actuators in the network. The Prosoft MVI56-LTQ has a backplane current load of 800 mA at 5 V DC. It can operate at temperatures ranging from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). It is equipped with 4 LED status indicators that inform the user of module status, backplane transmission status, application status and serial activity. The module automatically detects hardware problems and turns the OK LED on the front of the module red. The unit comes with an RJ45 to DB9M cable and RS-232 configuration cable for each port.
