MVI46-MNET is a MODBUS TCP client/server module. The module was manufactured by Allen-Bradley encompass partner company ProSoft Technology. This module is mainly used to implement the MODBUS TCP I/P connection with SLC 5/02 M0/M1 or newer processors. It supports both client and server functions, has configurable memory for user-customizable data mapping, and the module can be used to communicate with any MODBUS TCP enabled device connected over the same network. It further supports integration with human machine interface (HMI) systems, supervisory control and Data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and distributed control systems (DCS).
The MVI46-MNET offers one (1) configuration port in the form of an RJ45 port that supports the RS232 standard and does not require a handshake. It also has one (1) RJ45 Ethernet port that serves as an application port for the module. It supports 10/100 Mbps transfer rates with dedicated links and active LED indicators. It has electrical isolation of 1500 V rms (at 50 Hz, lasting 60 seconds).
The MVI46-MNET is suitable for a variety of industrial applications such as food processing, petrochemicals, pulp and paper, automotive manufacturing, water and wastewater, oil and gas, and power and power industry applications. It comes with a 5000-word register, which is transferred between the SLC 500 processor and the M0/M1 data file.
The MVI46-MNET occupies a single slot in the 1746 backplane, consumes 800 mA@ 5.1VDC, and operates at 32° F to 140° F (0° C to 60° C). The storage temperature is -40° F to 185° F (-40° C to 85° C) and the relative humidity is
5% to 95% (no condensation).
