The IS220PVIBH1A is a separate boxed assembly with a front panel to allow communication connections, two screws mounted on the back edge, and grille openings on three sides to allow air flow. The controller is designed for mounting bases in cabinets. Up to three components can be installed next to each other to form a compact layout for easy service of triple-redundant systems.

IS220PVIBH1A runs on the QNX operating system _. It has – a Freescale 8349,667 MHZ processor. The board uses a 12-watt power supply rated at 18-36 volts DC. The board can be used at temperatures from 0 to 65 degrees Celsius and does not require a fan to cool it even at maximum rated temperatures. The board can be used for NFPA Level 1, partitioning. 2 Application programs.

The front panel of the IS220PVIBH1A has six female jack connectors, a USB port, and multiple LED indicators. This includes LED indicators labeled Link/Act on the left side of the front panel, and a row of indicators labeled Power, Boot, Online, Flash, DC, and Diag in the middle of the panel. The jack connector is used for Ethernet connectivity and enables the board to communicate with other MKVI, MKVIe, or EX2100 excitation controllers as well as with maintenance and operator stations.
