While distribution feeder system management can be a daunting task, GE Multilin’s 745-W2-P15-G1-HI-R-E streamlines the process and extends system life. Multilin’s feeder management relays are equipped with numerous features to protect distribution feeder systems, reduce stress on system components, and reduce troubleshooting time through their metering and data logging capabilities.

The front panel of the relay is roughly divided into four parts: a 40-character LCD display, keyboard, LED, and RS232 ports. The 40-character LCD is alphanumeric and indicates various system values when not in use (which can be configured by the user). The keyboard allows for manual set point configuration of relays and general navigation. Leds can indicate when there is a problem with the system and also let the user know about the progress of the activity. Finally, the RS232 port allows for an easy and direct connection between a computer running the EnerVista 745 software and the relay.

The 745-W2-P15-G1-HI-R-E includes a metering function that determines voltage, frequency, watt-hour cost, load trip percentage, and operating and maximum demand equivalents. When the breaker maintenance threshold is exceeded, the relay can use its metering function to trigger an alarm. The alarm can be indicated by the twenty above leds of the relay.

Additional security measures can be implemented through password protection to prevent unauthorized adjustments to set values. This password protection applies to both manual edits made from the front of the relay and edits made through the EnerVista 750 program. For manual input set point configuration, a jumper must be installed on the rear terminal.
