I. Product Positioning

The Woodward 723PLUS marine-specific model, low-voltage type, 18-40VDC, is specially developed for the propulsion diesel engine of dual-unit tandem-propeller vessels. It is suitable for medium-high speed diesel engines / dual-fuel generators with a rated speed of > 100 rpm. Core functions: equal distribution of mechanical load between two engines + synchronous engagement of clutches and transmission of rotational speed + closed-loop speed control for propulsion. It is the standard configuration for ocean-going cargo ships, tugboats, engineering vessels, and fishing vessels. The low-speed version of the same series is 8280-422 (< 100 rpm).

Unique marine core functions

Mechanical load sharing of dual engines: unified control of two main engines by a single throttle handle, automatic load sharing, eliminating the fault of one cylinder fully loaded while the other is empty and unbalanced;

Clutch engagement speed matching: automatically synchronize the rotational speed of the left and right engines before clutch engagement, soft engagement buffering, reducing gearbox impact;

Elastic coupling torsional vibration filtering: software algorithm filters the torsional vibration interference of flexible coupling, avoiding the risk of speed fluctuation runaway;

Multi-level fuel limit: cold start fuel limit, acceleration slope fuel limit, intake pressure related fuel limit, suitable for ship variable load conditions;

Redundant speed measurement + self-diagnosis: in case of MPU failure, automatically switch to the backup speed measurement, real-time fault code storage, facilitating ship maintenance.
