The unit is designed to control a steam turbine by operating a single extraction and/or steam turbine.
It uses one or both of the turbine’s separate stage actuators to drive the steam inlet valve.The unit, like any 505 governor module, can be configured in the field by a field operator.Menu-driven software is controlled and changed by an operator control panel integrated on the front of the device.The panel displays two lines of text, each of 24 characters.

The Woodward 8440-1884 controller module is one of the many series of controllers offered by AX Control Inc to you for purchase. If needed, we can also repair and refurbish the controllers for you. The model is a low-pressure model that operates as a single actuator system and does not provide a deceleration ramp. This model is also a forward acting control that operates at an actuator current of 0-200 mA and has obtained CE certification. The voltage source of the low-voltage model is in the range of 20-40 Vdc.

For low voltage models, please ensure that the zero terminal is not used when connecting the shielding layer to the controller. The front of the controller frame indicates that it is not used.
