The ProTech-GII is an overspeed safety device designed to safely shut down steam, gas and water turbines of all sizes when an overspeed or superacceleration event is detected.
Model 8237-1246 is part of the Woodward ProTech-GII series. It is an overspeed detection system that can be configured to work with many types of turbines. If it senses excessive acceleration of water, steam and gas turbines, it can safely shut them down. In addition to acceleration detection, it also has MPU detection. Type 8237-1246 is also resistant to sulfur, H2S, and SO2 gases. It has a triple modular design that makes it easy to replace a part of a running product.

Type 8237-1246 can also be configured to perform routine tests. This will test each individual module. It should be stored at a temperature of -4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit and can operate at a temperature of -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It has a 4.2-inch keyboard display. Models 8237-1246 weigh less than 27 pounds and can be installed in a standard cabinet.
