The MVI94-MCM is a Modbus master or slave network interface module manufactured by ProSoft Technologies. The MVI94-MCM is classified as a Flex I/O family of devices whose function is to allow the Flex processor to easily connect with other Modbus protocol-compatible devices. The form factor of the MVI94-MCM is specified as a single slot 1794 backplane compatible for positioning in any slot of the backplane. The backplane current load of the module is 20 mA (5 V), and the external power supply rating of the module is 12 to 24 V DC. The MVI94-MCM operates at 0 to 55 degrees Celsius and has a storage temperature of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The module has a shock absorption capacity of 30 grams in the operating state and 50 grams in the non-operating state. MVI94-MCM has a relative humidity of 5% to 95% and is non-condensing. The module uses LED status indicators to indicate the module status and backplane transmission status. The MVI94-MCM requires a communication program in order to send and receive data to the module through a serial port on the computer. This means that you need to use a single communication program called HyperTerminal. The functional specifications of these modules include support for storing and transferring more than 5,000 registers, as well as data file transfers from the Flex processor. Another functional specification is to serve as a user-definable module memory usage and application port for emulating Modbus master or slave devices.
MV194-MCM is a Prosoft Technology Modbus communication module. The module is compatible with the 1794 Flex I/O product family and occupies a single slot on the 1794 backplane – it can be installed into any available slot in the case.
The MV194-MCM comes with one (1) serial configuration port, labeled PRT1 in the form of mini-DIN RS-232, and supports hardware handshakes; It also features one (1) application serial port labeled PRT2, which is a mini DIN port with support for RS-232 / RS-422 / RS-485 electrical standards, optional jumper, and 500 volt optical isolation from the FlexBus backplane.
