Products Description

Product Positioning and Core Functions

ICS TRIPLEX T8451 is a highly reliable digital input/output (I/O) module specifically designed for industrial automation and control systems, belonging to the Trustworthy TMR (Triple Module Redundancy) series. Its core functions include:

Triple Redundancy Architecture (TMR)

The module integrates three completely independent circuits internally, ensuring the correctness of the output through a real-time voting mechanism. Even if a single or double-point failure occurs, the system can still operate continuously, meeting SIL3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) and IEC 61508 standards.

It supports hot-swapping functionality, allowing module replacement while the system is powered on, without the need for downtime for maintenance, with an average repair time (MTTR) of less than 1 minute.

High-precision digital signal processing

It provides 40 independent channels, divided into 8 power groups, each with 5 output channels, supporting multi-channel synchronous monitoring.

Each channel has a rated output current of 2A, a total maximum output current of 8A, suitable for driving high-current loads (such as solenoids, relays).

Real-time monitoring and diagnosis

It includes electronic short-circuit protection and open/dark-state resistance monitoring, with fault information uploaded in SOE (Event Sequence Recording) format to the upper computer.

It supports inter-channel crosstalk suppression (-40dB or below) to ensure signal independence.

Wide environmental adaptability

The operating temperature range is -5°C to 60°C, the non-operating temperature range is -25°C to 70°C, and the protection level is IP20.

Anti-shock and vibration design, suitable for harsh industrial environments (such as oil, chemical, and power industries).

Technical advantages and market positioning Technical advantages

High availability: The TMR architecture, combined with the fault isolation mechanism, ensures that the system can provide control outputs without delay or performance degradation even in the event of a failure.

Ease of maintenance: The hot-swappable design and rapid fault location function significantly reduce maintenance costs.

Compatibility: Supports multiple communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP, and can be seamlessly integrated with DCS and SCADA systems.

Market positioning

Positioned as a high-end industrial automation control module, suitable for scenarios with extremely high requirements for reliability, safety, and performance (such as nuclear power, aerospace, and high-risk chemical processes).

Prices vary depending on configuration and supplier, but are typically higher than ordinary I/O modules, reflecting their redundant design and high-end features.

Typical application scenarios

Oil and gas industry

Used for equipment control and monitoring during oil and gas extraction, processing and transportation, such as valve status feedback and emergency shutdown systems (ESD).

Redundant design is adopted to reduce the risk of production interruption caused by equipment failures.

Chemical and pharmaceutical industry

Monitor key parameters in chemical production processes (such as reactor temperature and pressure) to ensure process stability.

Drive high-integrity safety instrument systems (SIS) to prevent high-risk processes from going out of control. Electricity industry

Used for equipment control and protection in power plants and power grids, such as monitoring of circuit breaker positions and operation of disconnect switches.

Supports real-time data collection, assisting in power grid dispatching and fault location.

Rail transportation and mining

Coordinating traffic signal control to optimize traffic flow; monitoring the operating status of mining equipment to ensure work safety.
