The XYCOM XVME-653 is a high-performance VMEbus Pentium processor module with an Intel 233MHz MMX CPU at its core that combines 512K synchronous secondary pipeline caching and up to 256MB fast page mode or EDO DRAM. The module integrates the PCI-to-VMEbus interface, enabling users to take advantage of the multiprocessing capabilities of VMEbus while using standard off-the-shelf PC software and operating systems. The XVME-653 is designed to perform well in areas such as industrial automation and control systems, especially where high performance computing and complex data processing are required.
In addition, the XVME-653 includes a range of I/O interfaces, including PCI graphics, EIDE, and Ethernet controllers, a universal Serial bus (USB) port, two high-speed serial ports, an EPP/ECP parallel port, and PS/2 style keyboard and mouse ports. These rich interfaces provide flexible connections to external devices to meet the requirements of different application scenarios.
