The 3500/92 Communications Gateway module provides extensive communication capabilities for all rack monitoring with process control and integration of value and status with other automated systems while using Ethernet TCP/IP and serial (RS232/RS422/RS485) communication capabilities. It also allows Ethernet communication with 3500 rack configuration software and data acquisition software. Supported protocols include:
l Modicon Modbus protocol (via serial communication)
l Modbus/TCP protocol (using a variant of serial Modbus) for TCP/IP Ethernet communication)
l Proprietary Bentley Nevada Protocol (used with 3500 rack configuration and communications data acquisition packages)
The 3500/92 supports the communication interface, the communication protocol and other features of the original 3500/90, in addition to the main value Modbus register. 3500/92 There is now a configurable Modbus Register Utility which can provide the same functionality as the functional Modbus register originally handled by the primary value.
