I. Product overview
The four-channel 3500/72M reciprocating piston rod position monitor accepts input from a short-range sensor, adjusts to provide dynamic and static position measurement signals, and compares the adjusted signals with user-programmable alarms. Depending on your configuration, each channel typically adjusts its input signal to produce various parameters called measured values. Using the 3500 framework configuration software:
Configure any two active values and hazard set point measurements for each active measurement.
l By continuously protecting the reciprocating compressor, the monitoring parameters are compared with configuration parameters to display alarm and trigger relay alarm set points, if required.
l Monitor the condition of basic reciprocating compressor machinery. Monitoring channels are programmed in pairs and can perform up to two functions at a time. For example, channels 1 and 2 May perform one function while channels 3 and 4 perform another or the same operational function.
The 3500/72M reciprocating rod position monitor meets the requirements of API 618 standard reciprocating compressors. It measures:
