The Bently Nevada 3500/61 temperature monitor provides six temperature monitoring channels and accepts resistance temperature detector (RTD) and thermocouple (TC) temperature input. These modules adjust these inputs and compare them to user-programmable alarm setpoints. The 3500/61 provides the same functionality, except that the 3500/61 provides recorder output for each of its six channels.

Users program modules using 3500 frame configuration software to perform RTD or TC temperature measurements. Different I/O modules are available for RTD/TC non-isolated or TC-isolated versions. Users can configure the RTD/TC non-isolated version to accept TC or RTD input, or a mixture of TC and RTD input. The TC isolation version provides 250 Vdc inter-channel isolation to prevent external interference.

When used in a three-mode redundancy (TMR) configuration, the temperature monitors must be installed in groups of three next to each other. When used in this configuration, the system employs two types of voting to ensure accurate operation and avoid a single point of failure.
