Bently Bently Nevada 133811-02 is a dual thrust position monitoring system developed by Bently Nevada. The dual thrust position monitor detected thrust bearing failure early. It continuously measures and monitors two independent channels for the axial position of the shaft related to the axial clearance of the machine.

Ideally, an axial probe is installed to directly monitor the thrust ring, so the measurement results show the position of the thrust bearing relative to the thrust bearing clearance. Note that since thrust measurement is carried out by measuring the gap voltage of the proximity probe used as input, sensor failures (gap out of range) may be misunderstood by the monitor as thrust position movement, leading to incorrect thrust alarms.
As a result, Bentley Nevada LLC. It is not recommended to use a single probe in thrust position applications. Instead, these applications should use two proximity probes to monitor the same collar or shaft, and the monitor should be configured with AND voting, which means that both sensors must simultaneously reach or exceed their alarm setpoints to activate the monitor’s alarm relay. This 2-out of 2 voting technology (also known as AND voting) provides the best protection against false and missed access.
Although the 3300/20 monitor can be set to single or dual voting (OR/AND), it is strongly recommended to have dual voting for all thrust position applications. Careful probe range and adjustment are crucial for mechanical protection in this monitor. Improper adjustment of sensors may prevent the display from sounding an alarm (without mechanical protection).
